Hmm... never though of it that way

It could very well be not only that, but also the root of the problem... not only do they not acknowledge that what they did is bad, they never even recognize that they chose to do it in the first place.

Which I think is a moral cop out because it lets people say that they cant be held moraly responsible for their actions. And that is complete and total bullshit, pardon the language mods, but it is. Aye, it is quite easy to do that, I was just posting mutliple thoughts in a single paragraph. lol.

It could very well be the cause of some of our problems, but i'm not sure that everyone follows that way of thinking.

Yeah, that view of fate is my own personal belief, but I found it seems to fit so well.

damn, that sucks big time. sorry to hear that mate.

shame this type of stuff is becoming more common

There are alot of good things happening in this world, just that todays media doesn't have as big an interest in letting people know of that stuff as they do the "bad" stuff. you always hear of so and so getting shot or raped, but you never hear of the person helping the old woman across the street (not that exactly but you get what i mean)

Very sad. Just makes me think about why people do these things? My thoughts are that we need less censorship and better education. We need to show people from an early age how things work and how to deal with them. When we hide kids from things like violence and sex, they just develop unhealthy obessions with them. Well, it makes sense to me at least. All of us here don't have this problem. None of us will commit a senseless murder. So lead by example and try to help others, thats the only way.

The problem isn't censorship; the problem is there is simply TOO MUCH, and people start to think it's the normal way things are

Agreed, but let us not get into a political discussion on censorship. I see that having the ability to turn many different ways.

Very true. It could be quite interesting, but I don't know how many people really want to have a debate on it.

I personally am up for less censorship in all forms.
Let me see te war in Iraq in all it's brutality, let me see the men and women to fight to defend our country. Let me see the pain. Let me see the people. Maybe when we see what our wars do, we would rethink sending the men and women (about my age) to their possible deaths.

let the games begin...

You mean like during the Vietnam War?

I personally think we shouldn't have much censorship... I mean, perhaps they could ban racist-type things, etc., but let me see how the war is REALLY going...

I think the only form of acceptable censorship is self censorship. The idea is that rational people do not need a governing body regulating what they say or do.

Of course everyday in the news we see examples of why humanity is not a rational species.

Until humanity as a whole rejects rhetoric and promotes free thought, they are doomed.

Of course being an incarnation of Nyrlathotep may have shed some insight into my slightly jaded nature.

Indeed. We try so hard to shelter everyone from everything but it gets outta control. You gotta wonder how many events like my li (sorry, I butchered that one).

I agree, i'd like to see free thought a more common concept, but there are still plenty of points showing that humanity is not rational.

It would be wise, however, to realize that bad news sells and good news doesn't. For every bad story we hear, there could be countless other good stories.
